SATUR D-I-Y: seed bombs

Seed bombs are little bundles of various flower seeds, usually wildflowers, mixed with manure, soil, and/or some other type of organic base. Mademoiselle Chaos shows you how to easily make your own seed bombs. This seems like an easy enough present for anyone, and in fact I intend to make some as gifts for Christmas.

Here's another tutorial to make easy seed bombs with clay.

Caroline Kim takes us through the step-by-step process of making seed bombs that gardeners on the go drop into the soil of barren, forlorn spots. Start with organic earthworm castings. Then add clay soil. Mix dry.<br>

Here's another great seed bomb. Empty egg shells are used to hold seeds in these explosive egg seed bombs.

Mini Terrarium

I spotted this on Terri Planty's blog not long ago, and I fell in love! This little idea combines my love of DIY jewelry, plants, and miniature things all into a cute little bundle. This is all the incentive I need to get some tiny bottles of my own.

Terrarium

Lately I've been finding myself being drawn the to idea of making a terrarium. I've always had a love for all things green, but I never quite had the patience of an avid gardener.

I got this lovely shaped glass wine jug from a friend right before he was about to throw it out. The mouth is rather small, so it will make it difficult in the initial placement of my terrarium plants, but I'm determined to use this jug for that purpose!

Below are a few places that show you how to make your own terrarium.

Myeombeom Kim

With no clear distinction between man made and organic form, Myeombeom Kim creates works modeled after the philosophical idea of hylozoism. Kim's portfolio is quite amazing; I feel I could stare at her work for hours.

Photon Organon

Amazing underwater nude photos by Niel Craven. Underwater photos are some of the most difficult to capture well on film, but Craven has accomplished in taking beautiful and whimsical shots.

Pendant Light

After seeing this idea on How About Orange, and after getting sick and tired of my old and crumbling standing lamp, I decided to try this faceted pendant light idea. I really like the texture of it and I hope it will bring and interesting quirk, as well as some better lighting, to my room.
